My cousin just bought a 1990 TT Z and the ignition switch on it doesnt work and needs to be replaced, he was told by a friend of his (Z owner as well) that in order for him to replace the ignition switch he must get one thats also from a 1990 model because any other year wont work,meaning if he gets one from a 91 92 93 94 95 or 96 it wont work on his 90, Ive never heard of this, is this true or can he replace the switch with any other year switch?
